Francisco Nieves - Austin, TX

Francisco Nieves has been an open-air evangelist with the George Whitefield Program since January of 2023. Prior to this role, he served as a Campus Leader with the Christian Collegian Network from 2020-2022.

He is sent out and under the spiritual oversight of the elders at High Pointe Baptist Church, where he also serves as the deacon of community outreach.

Francisco has earned a Master’s Degree with distinction in Christian Apologetics from Liberty University.

He is married to the beautiful Viridiana Nieves and has four wonderful daughters; Yesenia, Reyna, Adrianna, and Damaris.

THE VISION

To provide everyone in the Austin metropolitan area an opportunity to hear the gospel and respond. We want to make the gospel of Jesus Christ unavoidable in the city of Austin and beyond!

THE MISSION

To bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to those who would never hear it, by publicly proclaiming the word of God in the highways and hedges of Austin [i.e., college campuses, large community events like festivals, concerts, major sporting events, and other areas where lots of souls gather and/or pass by], and to encourage and equip other believers to do the same.

THE STRATEGY

• Our evangelistic strategy involves three primary means:
• Open-air expositional preaching.
• Gospel literature distribution.
• One-on-One gospel conversations.

AUSTIN: A STRATEGIC CITY

• Austin has been one of the fastest growing cities in the United States since 2010 (An estimated 115 new residents move to Austin every day, many do not know Christ).
• Austin is the seat of government for the State of Texas. Change here affects the whole state.
• Austin is the home to the University of Texas, a public ivy league school with a student body of over 50,000 students including over 5,000 international students, many of whom are from countries which are closed or restricted to the gospel.
• Austin is home to many tech companies which attract workers from around the world.
• Austin hosts many large gatherings throughout the year including; F1 Grand Prix, South by Southwest Film Festival, Austin City Limits Music Festival, and many others. These events are great opportunities to preach the gospel.
